Cannot connect to Eyeglass web page

Please find below steps to troubleshoot issue connecting to Eyeglass web page.

From COMPUTER WHERE BROWSER IS RUNNING

1) Check that you can ping the Eyeglass appliance

Expected Result: Ping succsessful

Remedy if not able to ping:
- could be networking
- if using hostname - could be DNS

 

FROM THE EYEGLASS APPLIANCE

sudo su - to root user

1) Check that Eyeglass ligthttpd web service is running

systemctl status lighttpd

Expected Result: service is in Active: active (running) state

Remedy if not running: Restart service

systemctl restart lighttpd

Verify running
systemctl status lighttpd

 

2) Check that the relevant ports are in LISTEN state on the appliance


netstat -pan | grep 443
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:443 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 934/lighttpd
dseyeglass152:/opt/superna/sca/data/sync

netstat -pan | grep 2011
tcp 0 0 :::2011 :::* LISTEN 29580/java
dseyeglass152:/opt/superna/sca/data/sync

netstat -pan | grep 2012
tcp 0 0 :::2012 :::* LISTEN 29580/java

netstat -pan | grep :80
> look for these ones
tcp 0 0 :::8080 :::* LISTEN 1564/java
tcp 0 0 :::80 :::* LISTEN 934/lighttpd

Remedy if any of the above are not in LISTEN state - restart the Eyeglass sca service

systemctl restart sca

Repeat netstat commands and verify that now listening


FROM THE COMPUTER WHERE THE WEB BROWSER IS RUNNING

1) Check that required ports are open

telnet <Eyeglass appliance IP address> 443
telnet <Eyeglass appliance IP address> 2011
telnet <Eyeglass appliance IP address> 2012
telnet <Eyeglass appliance IP address> 80

Example for Eyeglass appliance with IP address of 1.1.1.1:
telnet 1.1.1.1 443
telnet 1.1.1.1 2011
telnet 1.1.1.1 2012
telnet 1.1.1.1 80


Expected Result: telnet session established with all ports

Remedy if unable to connect - could not open connection to the host on port x - connect failed: Follow up with Firewall team to have ports opened
