Error retrieving licenses

Message “Error retrieving licenses” when accessing the Eyeglass webpage

Possible Cause: Eyeglass sca service is not running

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. ssh to the Eyeglass appliance
  2. check whether the Eyeglass sca service is running

NOTE: Need to be root user to execute this command.  If you are not logged in as admin, 'sudo su -' to the root account first.

       # service sca status

           sca.service - LSB: Run the SCA

           Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/sca)

           Active: inactive (dead) since Thu 2014-12-04 19:24:14 UTC; 1h 32min ago

           Process: 8304 ExecStop=/etc/init.d/sca stop (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)

           Process: 8272 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/sca start (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)


Dec 04 19:24:13 eyeglass systemd[1]: sca.service: control process exited, code=exited status=1

Dec 04 19:24:13 eyeglass systemd[1]: Unit sca.service entered failed state.

Dec 04 19:24:13 eyeglass systemd[1]: Starting LSB: Run the SCA...

Dec 04 19:24:13 eyeglass sca[8272]: Already started

Dec 04 19:24:13 eyeglass systemd[1]: Started LSB: Run the SCA.

Dec 04 19:24:14 eyeglass sca[8304]: Not running

     Status Active:inactive, indicates that the Eyeglass sca service is not running.  

     3. Start the sca service

# service sca start
